SBJ7 lineage...

i know that its a scotch bonnet x Jonah cross.. but does anyone know the true lineage..

colors of the parent plants/pods?  i got these from Silver Surfer from his 2013 grow.. i then harvested the seeds and shared them amongst my pepper friends including someone in western aussie

this past season Silver Surfer sent me some pods of his grow of the SBJ7

he sent me this photo sometime last week...

and just this morning he sent me these photos... is it possible that this is a mutation or more of a cross from SS's 2013 grow

thanks Graeme.. hope they stay yellow!!

^That more or less sums up how they got there.
As for why this one is yellow:
Yellow gene was probably dormant. I'm putting together a table for pepper pigment genes, and you should be seeing it on the hot talk forum soon. Here are a few color types that peppers have, not counting mixes(Red,Brown,White, Yellow) with mixes being Burgundy, Pink/Peach, and orange. Seeing as they can only show a few genes at the time, the scotch bonnet could have easily had the yellow gene and passed it on, and this plant happened to have two.

I was also assuming the yellow gene was dormant until it appeared in this plant. I know that's the exact color of my MOA Scotch Bonnet pods. All my SB7J pods are the same color as your's Dennis. I like the yellow. I would be interested in finding out if there was much difference in color/heat. Please update us if you get more information.

This is what to look for in F5's (at least mine)

This one fell off the plant, but heres the inside

I'm amazed at how dense these pods are. I had it side by side with a 7 pot infinity. The pods were almost exactly the same size, but the SB7J felt almost twice as dense. The flavor is amazing. It's still too hot for me to eat a whole pod, but I'm working on it. I've been sampling small pieces in hopes of working up to at least a half pod soon.  I would definitely put this on next years grow list.

Wow great looking phenotype Pex !! So you are now getting towards a very stable variety ... f6 should show very little variation from the f5 in 90% + of plants ... are you saving seed from this particular phenotype?

f6's will be actually be around 96.8% stable according to the breeding charts ... nice work pex! ... will be keeping my eye out if any seeds come available to buy later down the track ...

Does anybody have any of these seeds left? My crop got WIPED out this year by all sorts of fun mites. doing an indoor grow.

I have open pollinated seeds from 2015. I got seeds from you in 2014...so it's the same version, just not isolated.
