Need some help with blueberries - anyone grow them?

so I have a sunshine blueberry plant(semi-dwarf, evergreen blueberry) and have no room for it in the garden. I would like to grow it in a pot. The recommendation say 20 gallon.  So what I have is a 30 gallon trashcan that is filled with a peat compost mix that I am not going to use. What I was wondering would the blueberry grow in this? will it out grow it?
 
You generally need at least two blueberry plants for a good harvest though. Not sure about that strain.

I was worried because someone said that the roots grow lateral not vertical. if so the length of the trashcan would be a waste of soil

It says self pollinating so hopefully I get some. it is a trial. if so I will get another

I think it would be fine but a couple years down the line you might need to transplant?
