2 growth nodes - ever seen this before?

Got one going also, only it didn't get 2 nodes that early.

Btw, very interesting variety the PI 159236. Love almost pitch black peppers :D

They are similar, aren`t they? These are slightly brown-ish black, whereas Pimenta da Neyde are purplish-black. The plants for PI 159236 are also green, not purple like Neyde are.

Just in case you don`t know, these are the almost black peppers Meatfreak mentioned, that this plant produces. Yes, these are ripe. Photo is from Rainbowchiliseeds web site and is not mine. That is also where I got the seeds from.

They look really cool :) Would be interested in case will be able to harvest some seeds :P still early in season :lol:
 
I hope to isolate one plant of each variety I`m growing, at least as best I can using mosquito netting. If I get that sorted out, I can certainly save you seeds!
 
Yep I have a Datil that developed two nodes just like that. Although, it sprouted with no node in between the cotyledons at all and took some time before the two nodes popped out. One became quite dominant in my case as well. Pretty cool little abnormality.

I know exactly what you mean, but I believe it is a pepper. Whether it is the right pepper or not, only time will tell.

Not great. I got nothing to germinate first time round, so I just put a few more seeds in. 
 
I have a red brainstrain that has two nodes. They formed very early on and neither appear to be dominant. Both nodes are healthy and are growing rapidly. I'll see if I can get a picture of it tonight.

BTW: I almost culled the plant as a seedling because I viewed it as an abnormality and thus had bad genes. I'm glad I kept it now because it's doing very well.

Mine has huge cotyledons too. Also they're quite hairy.
 
In my head i group PI 159236 with Georgia Black, Brown Egg, Aji Panca, Miscucho Colorado and Scarlet Lantern because they are all hairy chinenses. I have a little hypothesis that they're Annuum hybrids, possibly from 2 crosses, a brown and a "coloured".

I have a jalapeno like that!
 
I'm not 100% sure, but think I may have something similar. I have a 4 coty black Hungarian sprout this year that looks similar.
