Svetlana's peppers 2014

Hello,

Forgive my bad english I hope you understand.

I have a small garden, so I grow my hot peppers in large pots. Only the sweet peppers are in the ground.
Here, the summer is very hot, dry and windy (many flower of C. chinense abort).
In winter, frosts do not allow me to keep the plants outside.
Only a few plants are overwintered in heated tunnel, like C. rhomboideum & galapagoense.
I reseed each year in February.
Seeds (2 varieties of each) are put directly in pots  6x6, and germinated in the bathroom at a constant temperature of 27/29 ° C.

(In the 1980s, China began sending seeds into space to expose them to the environment and strong sunlight.
The Chinese were able to refine the method for obtaining viable seeds.
The interesting part is that they were able to modify the genes of chilli seeds and cultivated plants and the types of peppers completely new.
It seems that some of the genes of the plants have been removed / deleted during this process in space and as you can see from the pictures plants produce huge peppers on thin stems.
The seeds were sown and cultivated plants to produce these seeds, the seeds are extracted from plants of the fifth generation, as well as new strains and not hybrids, varieties are stable.)

Beautiful Cats Svetlana! You have an amazing list of varieties and wonderful looking greenhouse! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Mike

Thanks Mike.

This tropical greenhouse is a old attic I transformed. The roof was cut and replaced with polycarbonate panels.
This greenhouse is on the second floor of my old house, and in the winter, it always has the sun.

In winter, when the cold wind breath, or the rain rages, it is a joy to be in this warm and tropical ambience :) !!!!
Szvenko love to spend long periods in it.

So, I have a greenhouse in the house     !!

Is the Bourrache(Borage) already in bloom there?
Mine has just sprouted, and I have fear that a freeze tonight will take it.

Hi Jessee,

Here in Provence, the borage dies in winter when it freezes during several days. But it reseed very abundantly.
Just one night, she will not die if the freeze isn't too strong.
Good luck my friend.

+1 on 28.

Perfection too say the least.

I love the in house garden too! It makes me want to start a project ;)

Well done!

I kind of stumbled into this Glog searching for something that isn't even here!  Wow!  I hope you have some updates soon and I look forward to watching this one.  Good Luck!

Thanks my friends.

I apologize for the long absence, but I had some family concerns.
And the weather was not very kind with my peppers !! when they are out of the greenhouse, a period of very strong wind tore the most leaves, and those that remained were burned by acid rain....pfffft.......They were naked and ugly but very brave, they almost all rejected.
Now they are beautiful but they are very late for the season.

Haha wow I was just talking with someone yesterday about "there was a glog with someone in Europe growing space chiles."  Glad you're back!  We've had some very cool and wet weather here as well!  Welcome back, I hope all is well.

Hi Svetlana, you've certainly got eclectic tastes in plants! :)  There are some beautiful blooms going in your greenhouse. Do you grow Sundew plants primarily for pest control or visual effect? Sorry so many of your chiles got torn up by the blustery spring winds. What you're showing now looks very good. Keep up the good work!

Hi Ikeepfish          !

At the moment the weather is very strange: it is summer and yet it is very cold ! The first fruits of my space peppers struggle to ripen.
