Capsaicin cramps vs Menstrual cramps

I've obviously never had menstrual cramps, but I've experienced severe capsaicin cramps many times. You know, the kind when it feels like someone punched right through your abdomen, grabbed a handful of your intestines and twisted them into a knot?

It happened to me last weekend at a film fest in which my friend had a film playing. A bunch of us met up for drinks before the film, and I brought several bags of superhot powder to give away. An acquaintance said she loved heat, and can never order food hot enough, and yadda yadda yadda, so I gave her a bag of my hottest powder along with a warning. About five minutes later she starts freaking out after adding some to her bloody mary. It was too hot for her to drink, so she offered it to me. She had only had one sip of it, and I didn't want to see perfectly good booze go to waste so I said sure. Sure enough, it was wicked hot but I powered through it. I started getting that familiar feeling and asked her how much powder she put in the drink. She promptly produced an almost empty baggie from her purse! I knew I was in trouble as soon as I saw it. I had just ingested about two tablespoons of 7 pot powder (a mix of Douglah, Primo, Barrackpore, etc.) on an almost empty stomach. Everyone finished their drinks and we proceeded next door to the movie theatre. I tried my best to ignore the pain as we got tickets and sat down. Nope. There was no ignoring this pain. I excused myself and went back out to the lobby and bought a giant tub of popcorn with extra butter. I got more than a few strange looks as I paced back and forth sweating and shoveling popcorn into my mouth as fast as I could, but I didn't know what else to do. Luckily, about ten minutes of that brought the pain level down to a tolerable level and I was able to go back in the theatre and sit through the movie. It was a series of four or five short films and my friend's was last, so I didn't really miss anything.

Anyway, on the way home my wife asked what the big deal was, and basically called me a big baby. She has never had cap cramps, but insists that there is no way they could be worse than menstrual cramps. I don't personally know any females that would ingest enough capsaicin to get bad cramps from it, so that's why I'm asking here. I know it's a weird question, but are there any females here that have experienced severe capsaicin cramps, and can compare them to menstrual cramps? I know the severity of both menstrual and cap cramps differ from person to person, but I'm curious what y'all have to say.

And then filled your intestines with oven baked rock chunks? Yes. Some of us who happen to be girls, if you could quickly ingest half a kilo of capsciacin and tell us how much it hurts relative to that time of the month, that would be nice.

All I can say is that I've had an injury(that I am NOT getting into the detail of) that is certainly worse then menstrual cramps, and severe cap cramps(like from a stressed scorp) hurt more than that. Then again, it was a while ago and my memories may have faded because of the traumatic experience.

EDIT: If your wife is gonna call you a baby for crying over cap, then she should do the same thing you did and see how much it hurts. If she's right, then she should have nothing to fear from eating the f*cking peppers.

Well, it ain't quite that easy to compare.

Just as each person experiences cap cramps differently, each woman experiences monthly cramps differently.  I happen to have been fortunate in that cramps is not a monthly issue for me, only occasionally a bother.  For some girls, it's debilitating to the point of being unable to function for day or two.  I also never get short tempered or snippy.  :halo:  (Don't ask my hubby about the bitchy-ness and other things though!!!!  ;)  )

I have had severe cap cramps (from some 7 pot, moruga, and capsaicin Incinerator sauce) and I've experienced childbirth contractions.  The cap cramps had me lying on the bathroom floor in the fetal position for about 30 minutes until it chilled out.  Severe pain right around the stomach.  Menstrual cramps are more all over the lower stomach and lower back muscles and can be as severe as cap cramps.

Cap cramps are short term, monthly cramps...a few hours, maybe a day...

Neither compare to childbirth!!!

Worst cap cramps I've ever had involved a little bit of Musky powder.

Those weren't just cramps. They were paralysis inducing spasms. They came on like contractions with each wave getting worse than the last. They did not end voluntarily, and there is NO WAY I could have sat through a movie.

But damn was that powder ever good.

I've had capsaicin cramps once, its nothing compared to a kidney stone that's too big to pass. Over 48 hours in fetal position, only with the occasional trip to the bathroom to vomit!

Kinda sounds like childbirth.  48 hours, fetal position....  no bathroom breaks......

There's that point when you have to "embrace the suck".

not really sure what that means, it just sounds appropriate for this discussion.

I've heard kidney stones are the worst pain a person can have without serious outside intervention. There's something worse, but that's neither here nor there.
