i dont' think they are aphids. that's what i thought at first, but they crawl around and move pretty quickly. aphids don't really move too fast from my experience.

Yeah, your right...  aphids don't move much.  you have some pretty clear still pics.  I did a google image search and found that the stink bug nymphs compmodder said looks most likely

I can't remember what they are called.
Bad guys.
They swarm in very large numbers when they mate.
They love Mustard type crops.
They liked my Horseradish a lot too.
Most times they are somewhat selective about what plants they go too,but will attack all kinds of plants if that is all there is at the time.

Edit:
After talking to the nursery guy today..They are suckers, actually they don't hurt the plants as much from sucking as much as they do from spreading nasty stuff around-Virus etc.

Tomorrow I'll give Chris the link to your pic.
Hopefully get a positive ID.

Not sure if you have them here in America, but they look a lot like juvenile harlequin bugs to me. One of my Aunt's had them every year on a hibiscus plant when I was young, and the young looked exactly like these. Not sure if they're friend or foe though.

ok so I think I got this one.

It is defiantly in the Nymph family based on the antenna and body shape. I think it is a close relative of this guy:

Euthyrhynchus floridanus AKA the predatory stink bug

I know they look a little different but that may be because they are close cousins or even the same bug in a different stage (instar) of life.

An instar (from the Latin "form", "likeness") is a developmental stage of arthropods, such as insects, between each moult (ecdysis), until sexual maturity is reached.

Here is a good resource for you to look further. http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/beneficial/e_floridanus.htm

Most likely they are both a pest and a bennifet, as they suck juices, and eat insects.

You bastage! lol I searched for about an hour. Good job!

Your prize, you get to make a pest report in the Pest Guide... lol If you don't want to I'll do it when I get home tonight.

Yeah so did I (maybe more.... research is tantamount to work...? :P), until I realized the guys at bugguide.net know a lot more than I do, a quick sign up and they ID'd it overnight :D

I don't know jack about stink bugs but once I'm reading on bugs I might as well keep going. There is a leaf footed beetle living on the patio I am trying to track down, more for curiousity than anything, unsure if they are harmful. I don't think Ted would hurt anyone hehe

Thanks guys! definitely the Tomato Stink Bug. those are the ones i mentioned in my second comment that i have seen (greenish with spined shoulders). you guys are the best.
