Hi There

Hi there this is my first post and I am a novice pepper grower. I have vast horticulture experience and I am hoping on getting some nice hot peppers. Seems like I have caught some disease here with all the time spent researching pepper growing and looking into some exotic varieties. I am currently growing Jalapenos and cayenee peppers that I bought as starts a couple days ago both are in about 3 gallon pots with great soil in a sunny location. I also have some anaheim and sweet peppers germinating now. I am very interested in growing the Rainbow varities as well as a possbile breeding program to stabalize some new strains. Anyways I look forward to asking dumb new grower questions:lol:

-cheers

Welcome from mich. wilsonriverfisher, i have heard that some people use mulch to keep the moisture in the pots but personally i have never done it. If you are using ferts be careful what you mulch with some things such as grass are high in Nitrogen (I think). There will be some other posts by members who know for sure if it is ok to use grass.

Its not getting off to a very good start so far. I have not even hardened off my plants yet. Way behind schedule. Cold and rainy.
