it is a member of the sweat bee family, "metallic green bee". they are common in north america and very pretty to look at, they come in both metallic green and blue.

Yep, we have green bees here every summer. They seem to be the type of bee that is most interested in my pepper plants.

Hehe I watch these guys almost every day. They're quick too, a very good reason to use a bug shield fabric if you're wanting to isolate seeds.
