sp33d DIY air prune pot grow glog 2014 (update 9-10-2014)

Ok I'm a newbie around here but figured I would create a glog to contribute...hope you enjoy and I will update it weekly ...hope I'm doing/setting up this glog the right way

Ok this is an all organic outdoor grow..yes I am an all organic gardener and landscaper but I do not preach like some do...grow whatever you want to as long as your growing something is my philosophy..
9- 5 gallon air prune pots, 1- 7-gallon air prune pot and 2- 20sh gallon pots
Pro mix HP with 20 lbs EWC and nutrient kit from buildasoil.com, all mixed and then cooked for a week under a tarp

Feeding will strictly be alternated every week between
Neptunes fish/seaweed emulsion
Tea brewed with EWC compost from my worm factory and bat guano

Watering and tea will be made and done strictly with rain water from my rain barrel

Strains in this glog are
Big daddy hybrid sweet yellow
Cherry pepper
Thai pepper
Mild jalapeño
Green habanero
Bananarama hybrid
Carmen sweet pepper
Chocolate moruga scorpion
Chocolate Trinidad scorpion
Chocolate Bhut jolokia
Yellow mini bell
Carolina reaper

Drilled 1 1/2" holes in 5 gallon pots for air pruning, lined with garden paper and covered with shelf liner to stop pots from heating up in sun

Pepper food
Worm factory for fresh EWC, bat guano both to make tea and alternate weekly with the Neptune's fish/seaweed emulsion

Rain barrel for water for the tea brewing and fish/seaweed emulsion..will strictly be using the rain water for all feeding and watering

Chocolate bhut jolokia

Mini yellow bell

Carolina reaper

Sounds like a good setup! How well do the self made air pruning pots work?
Thanks ...
They have worked really good for me in the past with tomatoes ,strawberries and cucumbers ...this is the first year trying air prune pots with peppers but I'm assuming they will do just fine ...I hope...

Figured I would post some pics today since I am always tinkering with something ..hope you like...

Here is the worm factory in action making me fresh EWC

A s I said I'm always tinkering with something so I went ahead and put this tea brewer together today with some 1/2" PVC and cut to fit the bottom of the 5 gallon bucket

Most important part of this is to seal the bottom of the vertical PVC where the tubing protrudes out of bottom of the vertical PVC into the ring so water won't go up the vertical PVC's. When the bottom ring is put together and attached to bottom of vertical PVC the tubing is inside the bottom ring PVC ...

Here I drilled a bunch of holes to simulate an air stone ring...

Here you can see the tubing protruding through top of vertical PVC and was sealed at bottom so water doesn't come up the vertical PVC through the tiny holes in the PVC at the ring...duck tape just holding tubing still while the sealant cured at the bottom...

Just a view inside and outside

looks good sp33d, plants look good and healthy as well.  speaking of which, get some more pictures of them up here!!!!

Tuned in!  Lets see that thing brewin!
Thanks for tuning in my friend I will not disappoint...

If you post it they will come! We all like looking at peoples pictures man, with blogs in particular, we enjoy getting into the story of how your plants progressed, and how you felt about what was going on with your grow every step of the way, everyone can learn from a glog, even if they learn what not to do, there are many glogs so it takes time to get to everyone's. Your plants look good though and the DIY tea brewer, nice touch! Good luck with your grow and your glog!

Thanks bud,much appreciated....

Alright guys here is a big update for you

I updated this glog and added all the strains I am growing ...12 strains in all.....9 of them in air pruned 5-gallon pots , 2 of them in 20sh gallon pots (55 gallon drum cut in half) and one of them in 7 gallon air prune pot..all pots wrapped in white shelf liner to keep from cooking in the sun....
So here are a bunch of pics

Any white spots on leaves are from dried up organic fungicide and organic insecticide..

Enjoy and any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated and always respected...

Here's the whole pepper plot

Cherry pepper

Thai chili pepper

Chocolate moruga scorpion...it has been a slow one and doesn't look healthy..it's the only one that has been giving me trouble . It has the same soil, gets the same water and ferts as the others and this one just seems to be slow and ugly..;)

Carmen sweet pepper

Bananarama hybrid

Trinidad chocolate scorpion . It is a little slow after I topped it...

Mild jalapeño

Green habanero

Mini yellow bell

give that Chocolate moruga scorpion some time, eventually it will grow up and out and look better.  get a magnifying glass and check under the leaves though, something going on with it for sure

looks good, all plants seem healthy. not bad at all if ya ask me.
Thanks bud...all of them except that scraggly lookin chocolate moruga scorpion...darn thing just stalled and looks ill with small wrinkled leaves...I don't do anything different as far as feeding it and it has the same soil and ferts... Maybe it will take off soon...;)
