can I dry manzanos?

I have a farmers market connection. I just picked up about 4lbs of manzanos for 79¢ a lb.

Can I dehydrate these or should I just freeze? I know they have thick walls and look bell pepperish. Will they dehydrate ok?

I'm sure you won't have an issue drying them. The caveat though is, because of the thicker wall, it'll require a longer drying time...

if you freeze them first they will dry a lot quicker cutting them in half also helps

Yes, halving the peppers significantly cuts down on the dehydrating time, and helps to dehydrate the walls both from the inside and outside of the pepper.

I made sun dried manzano halves last year during a heatwave 90F+ on a black cookie sheet. It took almost  a week. And they went on top of my fridge at night.

I wouldn't even think of drying/freezing them. I'd have stuffed peppers for dinner until I ate 'em all!

Nice score!
