I just got back from Costa Rica and I asked for some hot sauce at this restaurant. They brought out some very pale green, home made hot sauce that was fantastic. I asked what was in it and all they could tell me was "panameno chile".

Has anyone here ever heard of a pepper called panameno? I tried googling it and got very conflicting results.

I don't know first-hand, but some research indicates it's more commonly known as Aji Chombo, but there's some debate as to whether it's a habanero or scotch bonnet.

The Hippy Seed Co looks like they have them in stock. Might be worth shooting them an email asking if they have more info.
