Your trees look really good so far, what mixture you use for them as a growing medium?
I buy a good organic soil mix like Fox Farms Ocean Forest and then add another 1/3 perlite to that with another 1/3 pine bark fines. My local nursery carries forest bark fines in bulk and a 50lb bag costs me $7.00 and its huge. After that then I add a 2 inch layer of bark for mulch. I also mix about a cup of citrus/avocado fert into the soil under the mulch.

dang I did it again I just bought another tree I pick up this saturday. I don't have a pear and we love them :)

its a kieffer that ripens in October.....................the great thing about them is they can keep for a month or 2 after they are picked off the tree  :)

Looks like I might be converting my 8x4 raised bed into a place to plant 4 citrus tree's. I just bought a Morro Blood Orange tree after tasting one at my local nursery and also picked up a Sir Prize Haas Avocado Tree that I will try growing Espalier. Now I'm really running out of room. I'm going to move the side of my fence out 8 feet which will give me another 8x40 feet of growing space. :)

I wasn't looking for another orange tree but that moro blood orange was by far the best testing orange I have ever eaten. It was sweet, berry flavors and just the right balance of acidity. I can't wait for this one to start producing fruit. Its a little guy right now so it will be a few years before I let it fruit. I put it into a 22x22x18 inch deep plastic air pruning container so it should thrive in that environment.

ok now for real I'm done with fruit trees I added my final tree a cara cara orange tree that now gives me 30 fruit trees    :P
I just read this whole thread, and if I was better at multi quote I would let you know how ridiculous this comment sounded to me lol. You have said you were done buying trees probably 10 times! I wish I lived somewhere I could have trees like that. I am going to get some fruit and berries going at my place, hopefully this year

I know I'm multi quote challenged as well rofl. I think my favorite thing to grow now for sure is fruit  and I like the fact I don't have to replant them every year and the harvest is great and enjoyed by everyone whereas with peppers that's not the case its more for me than it is for others. I also like the challenge of keeping them small and still have plenty of fruit for each tree/bush. I now have plenty of types and varieties to give me a year round supply or so I think haha.

You didn't even make it a whole week!
I know its a real sickness. This time I really have to make room there is only one place left I can plant this tree and its in the corner where I have my grape plant on a trellis. I will have to move that to another location along the fence and put this tree in its place. So that will be my weekend project this Saturday/Sunday.

Here is a pic they had a few a foot taller but I knew it wouldnt fit in my Honda Accord coupe lol
