Deep Fryers

Looking to get a deep fryer, mostly to fry chicken pieces and wings. I'm thinking of the Breville bdf500 "smart" fryer, which has good reviews and a 4L oil capacity. It has preset settings for different foods so I'm  just wondering if you can adjust the temp DURING frying which isn't explicitly stated in reviews and the manual.

Besides that, any recommendations?

Ended up getting the Tefal FR4068. Got a nice discount on it aswell as it just happened to be on special, and the lady at the checkout took $5 off the already reduced price without even asking or haggling!

Looks like a decent model, can take it apart for cleaning, dishwasher safe, 4 litre oil capacity and has a pretty decent sized basket, largest of all the fryers they had on display. Looks like it can hold up to 6 pieces of chicken comfortably, using my KFC as a reference.

nice! Enjoy. Run the oil through paper towel in a strainer and pop it back in the gallon jug. Date it and store it in the fridge.

Cheers mate after a few fry ups with this unit, I am happy to report that it kicks ass. Fish n chips done in this thing are awesome, I had 6 pieces of chicken in it at the same time and the coating came out crispy and the meat juicy. Loving the large capacity. Will be frying some Buffalo Wings this week in this fryer. I've fried these in a pan before so will be interesting how they compare.

I fry a bunch of wings till done, cool, portion and freeze. On wing night no need to defrost, pop em on a rack on a sheet pan 450 till hot and crispy, toss in sauce. Many restaurants do wings this way.

This way I only deal with the fryer once for like a few dozen wings.

I have a masterbuilt turkey fryer. It holds about 3 gallons. Think it's discontinued, but it works well.
