okra problem. need help urgently!!

My okras have been doing exceptionally well but one day after i sprayed them with epsom salts and water they suddenly had holes on their leaves from some disease or insect damage. I have only observed some black spots and some sprinkling of black stuff underneathe their leaves. Initially i thought it was aphids as some of the new growths are crinkling and i brewed some water infused with garlic and cayenne powder and sprayed. Its been 4 days and i suppose it hasnt gotten worse. But i'm not too sure. Help please!

Heh, all my okra leaves look worse than that every year but they just keep going like nothing happened.  Some of the specks may be aphids or eggs or bug poop, but overall I wouldn't worry much unless you start getting swarms of larger insects that eat a lot at a time like beetles or grasshoppers, or whatever else there might be in Singapore.

They may not like Epsom salt.  Looks like they got Sun burned
Thanks for the replies guys!! Will just leave them alone to recover then.

Is this an indoor grow and/or in a container?  Okra need a LOT of sun, soil, and high temperatures to do their best.

Ironically today marks the day that the Japanese beetles came, and easily found my okra first.  One leaf is now turning to swiss cheese.  In some ways I don't mind too much if they are more attracted to the okra leaves than anything else in the garden.  They haven't bothered the pods (knock on wood).

If they were doing fine why did you spray them?

Another example of a good dose of "leave them the hael alone".
