Chenzo cross

This was supposed to be a chenzo. Based on all the images I have seen so far, It just doesn't seem to measure up. It is quite seedy, I pulled 33 seeds from this pod. It has a green taste like an annuum and a very subtle sweetness. Heat is warm at best and centralized at the tip and forward top of the tongue.

It is supposed to be an annuum capable of an SHU rating of 45,000. When mature it is sometimes said to have notes of frutescens. The pods are black maturing to red and is supposed to be tapered. As you can see, mine are not. Karl Hendrix would probably be able to shed some light on what we are seeing as only he knows what was growing near by.

Wow that is different then a Chenzo. Almost looks crossed with that little Trinidad Cherry Pepper Nigel just did the review on. By the photos it seems rather fleshy. But then again Cherio Roxa would come to mind with so many seeds coming out of it. Good luck with that one. Nice looking plant either way.

Thx for the compliment, though the pic does the entire plant no justice. Funny you mentioned chiero roxa. I had seeds for them and couldn't get any to germinate this grow.

A few other interesting pods I am keeping an eye on.

C. Annuum var. Gabruisculum "Tio"
and C. Chinense x C. Frutescens "Devils Tongue White/ Aji Gusanito #1
