An Ally in the Cancer Fight

An Ally in the Cancer Fight
The key healthy ingredient in hot peppers is capsaicin, which is the element that gives peppers their heat. The Journal of Cancer Research reports that capsaicin has been shown to suppress the growth of prostate cancer cells. The antioxidant nature of capsaicin can combat cell destruction caused by free radicals, according to the American Cancer Society. Hot peppers such as jalapenos are extremely low in calories and provide a source of vitamins A, C and K.

While it is true that peppers can reduce prostate cancer, you need a lot of capsaicin to do so for the long term. Not entirely sure that avoiding a year or two of treatment in your whole life if they catch it in time is really worth feeling like you crapped a lightning bolt every day of your life unless you like stupidly hot foods anyway.

unless you like stupidly hot foods anyway.
Well, O.K.
How much is "a lot of capsacin?"

Once you cultivate a taste for peppers, what I may not consider "a lot" may have someone else dialing 911.

I have something every day considered "stupidly hot" for many people, and sometimes every meal.

Everybody has cancer, but most handle disposing of it naturally by the bodies own defense mechanisms.

It's when the system becomes defective that it runs out of control.

Nothing wrong with using foods with known cancer fighting elements to help out your system.
