condiment My Basic Fresh Homemade Salsa

Here is my basic homemade salsa recipe:

2 lbs. tomatoes
1 cup green onions
2 limes worth of lime juice
1/2 tsp. of salt
2 Cups fresh cilantro
Peppers to taste

1. Dice the tomatoes and green onions

2. Mince the peppers and cilantro

3. Mix all ingredients into a large bowl or seal-able container

4. To let the flavors combine well let sit for a half hour or more

5. Eat within 3 days (the onion becomes overpowering after 3 days)

Hope you like this recipe!

Pretty much a spot-on salsa cruda recipe.  I like to add a bit of white onion with the green, which makes for a nice color contrast.  Glad you omitted garlic in this particular recipe, too.  Also, very glad you omitted the food processor which makes a foamy mess, IMHO.

Great recipe. Very similar to what I make for my wife, though I use a lot less cilantro. Personally I can't comment on the taste, as I hate raw tomatoes, but the better half absolutely loves it.
