Pod variation on single plant?

My yellow moruga/7 pot /whatever others have told me it is has been throwing out wildly different shaped pods all season. Has anyone else noticed this with individual plants or does anyone have an explanation for this? I understand that genetic instability is common in new strains but this is occurring in a single plant. Album of pod pictures - http://imgur.com/a/r5Vef

You hit it spot on with genetic instability. That's pretty common especially if its an F1 crossed with another F1. Like anything else, 2 unstable parents create very confused offspring :rolleyes:

Okay thanks, the seeds were sold to me as yellow moruga scorpions, and some of the pods have definitley shown the characteristic tails, but as you can see others haven't, so I'm putting that down to it being a cross of some sort

I have Moruga plant thats throwing bhut(long bumpy) and scorpion tailed pods all on the same plant
The plant is from a brown seed source and there is no telling what the pods will ripen to
So I keep watering it :)

Yeah some of mine are very bhut looking, and some 7 pot looking and some scorpion tailed. But I like the taste of them and they look pretty so I'm not combining ;)
Combining =complaining

Pods variation (Shape and size) is normal among all peppers, I have seen some pods on the same plant which no way you would believe they are from the same branch.

Very true.

update
I just found one thats about 4" long and "almost" double cork screwed Bhut all day long,just pretty jacked up in the pheno dept LOL~

     I know first-hand how much variance there can be on one plant regarding shape and heat, but has anybody grown a plant whose pods differed greatly in flavor?

Ive tried two greens off this particular plant and they are screamer hot and looking forward to full on brutal :)
