This seed train was specific to WILD and SEMI WILD pepper seed
but do to low participation rates has been updated to include ALL pepper seed varieties.
Requirements and sop
1) FOLLOW THE RULES! Failure to follow the rules will lead to being banned from all future seed trains!
2) Open only to contiguous US members.
2) You MUST be an active THP member for 3 months or longer and have at least 100 ENGAGING! posts. (And I do read your post history)
What is not considered a legit post is more than 50% of your posts being requests for seed, welcoming new members or posts less than 7 words.
I will listen to reason if you dont qualify but think you should still be allowed to participate. PM me.
3) Quid pro quo. Take a seed, leave a seed. Or more if you can.
This train grows with each round and provides its riders with a variety of pepper seed not available anywhere else.
Generosity is rewarded with generosity and variety. It is not a charity seed bank. If you only have a couple of varieties to contribute then post on the forum for seeds you want. There are very generous members here that will, if asked send you seed. A seed train is NOT the place for a newbie to obtain hundreds of varieties of pepper for few few varieties everyone already has.
4) Label seed packet with variety, any pertinent info and THP user name. All individual seed packets should be placed into a large zip lock bag with THP user name. If you remove the final content of any of the varieties from its packet, return the empty seed packet to the large zip lock bag so that it may be refilled by the originator for the next round. Only the person providing the seed should remove the individual empty seed packets.
5) Prior to re-shipping the box, establish contact with the next person on the list and confirm they know the seed box shipment is imminent. You should have contacted this person at the onset of the train so when you are ready to ship there isn't any last minute chaos.
Spend no more than 24 hours attempting this contact. If unsuccessful after that time. post to the thread and establish contact and shipping detail of the next rider on the list.
Turn the box around in 3 days if at all possible. And place back into service with a tracking number.
6) Once the box has left your possession, post here with the tracking number.
7) If you are interested in participating and meet the requirements, Post to this thread (I'm in).
The train will be full at 15 riders. New riders will be added as first come first serve. But may be modified to expedite and make the train more efficient.
I know $hit happens and intent and execution are two different things. If you find at any time you cannot continue to participate, contact me at once and I will reroute the train around you.
Providing of course, you contact me before the box ships to you. And additionally, if there will be a delay in your shipping the box within a reasonable time frame.
8) No rigid containers containing powders, sauces or seed. The only containers allowed on the train are plastic bags. I will enclose some 2015 bags as well as some larger ones before it leaves here. Use these only if you want to contribute seed and dont have any. I will also provide a flat rate shipping envelope in case one is needed and not available. They are available online at USPS.com

As the train grows there are bound to be duplicate seed types. When I get the train at the mid point, I will NOT combine any duplicate seeds into one envelope. No one else should either. The reason for this is, If Judy from Pepper Lovers was a rider and had put any of her lava strains in. I would not want them combined with anyone elses so called lavas.
Second, participation requirements. The established requirements to participate are the absolute minimum I feel should be in place.(3 months and 100 posts). There is a lot of members hard work in one envelope/box of seeds and in most cases no one knows anyone on the forum much more than a user name. Longevity and character on the forum are the best clues about the perspective rider (but not without its own fallibilities). It is my responsibility to all current riders to vet potential riders that just make the minimums. Trust, but verify. I have made exceptions in the past only after much scrutiny and I have turned down requests as well.
The train wont leave till everyone confirms they have established contact and received shipping info from the riders after them.
Any questions or concerns post here or PM me and I will answer or resolve them.
I reserve the right to deny or remove riders for any reason that I feel is a detriment to the success of the train.
