Fire Cider Recipe

For those of you who live in cold places or suffer from bronchitis and seasonal allergies, this tonic might be right up our alley...

Homemade Turmeric Fire Cider

1/4 cup horseradish, freshly grated
1/4 cup garlic, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup ginger, freshly grated
1/4 cup turmeric root, freshly grated
Cayenne or the hot pepper of your choice, to taste... I used a pinch of my "Kitchen Sink" powder that was heavy on Bhuts and Scorpions
about 1 cup of raw apple cider vinegar (enough to cover all the ingredients)
Honey to taste

Combine all the ingredients except the honey and vinegar together in a pint jar. Cover with cider vinegar. Vinegar will corrode metal, so for this recipe or other vinegar tincture use a plastic lid, cork or ceramic top, or place a layer of waxed paper between the lid and the jar. Let the mixture sit for at least 4 weeks (Some folks let it sit for up to 6 months) then strain and sweeten to taste with honey.

A teaspoon is recommended every hour at the onset of sickness, and a tablespoon 3-5 times a day until symptoms have cleared. It's claimed that this concoction will clear congestion, stimulate circulation and boost the immune system.
