HBJ 2015 - Got a box of pepper love in mail today!!!

Just getting this thrown up here so I can do some edits to it as it is shorter than I want it.

Scaling back my supers to one 30 plant raised bed and one 30 plant hab like bed.

annuums, sweets, and misc peppers will go in the back garden.  Since I had 8 rows of hots out there this year and only planning on 2-3 rows next year, it should make more room for other things.  Also scaling back the number of each type of plant I am growing.  Looking at most 2 per plant type, except for the ones in the back garden.

Neat, have you started any seeds yet?

I won't be starting seeds until February as this year I ended up with a jungle and over crowded plants that were tall and spindly.  They grew out of it nice when they were planted out.

I will be starting my manzano plants sooner though.

Nice list so far Jeff. I've found myself scaling back the supers and hots for next year as well, while increasing sweets and milds as thats more to my wife's taste, so we'll use more of those. Best of luck for the 2015 season!

I will be growing a lot more sweets, mainly for my sauces.

You growing any Rocotos or Manzanos?

I saved some seeds from my manzano and PIC1 sent me some kind like that where the name escapes me at the moment.  Depending on how well I do with making a sauce from the pods I have.

Seriously considering growing chocolate hab next year.  The ones I grew last year were hawgs.  Didn't get a ton of poddage, but the ones I got were wall hangers.

Just dropped a couple hundred at the Green house mega store.  Free shipping today on orders over 200.  Picked up enough 6 mil to do two beds and pulled the trigger on a 31 by 10 sun screen for the strawberry bed.  Also picked up a few odds and ends.

The savings on the shipping is really nice.

Chenzo OW is kicking out some blooms and is growing quite fast.

Yep. I got the same tomato catalog the other day.

And, just like you and Scott, I'll be scaling way back on the supers. Likely only a few since I probably have enough powder for the next decade.  I o/w the 3 year old Red ghost, Jigsaw and the NM chocolate. If they all make it all winter, I might not start any new ones at all.

Got any favorites as far as the Tomatoes go?

I still have Early Girl's and San Marzano's going in pots. We don't get near the production during the fall-winter season, but we stay in the fresh tomatoes well enough.

Sun Sugar to munch on and as always better boy.  Might run Amish paste or Olpka if I need paste tomatoes and super boy if I am making salsa.  Not sure if I will branch out any from the old standbys.

Made a nebru pepper omelet tonight.  3 eggs and the entire pod and didn't get a lot out of it.  I should have room in the super bed, so I will probably put one in there.  I like the cross as it looks like it should be something nice.

I'm with you as far as tomatoes go. I just don't branch out much once I have ones I like. I did buy some seeds for an indeterminate paste tomato for next year though. I'll mix those in with my Romas to get a little continued production later in the year. This year I didn't have near enough late season tomatoes for fall salsas.
