plant What kind of pepper plant is this ?

Its way too early to make a proper identification. You have to wait till you see pods to know.......wait a minute, those are pods. What the hell is that thing?
my red habaneros from burpees seed stock grow upward but my red habaneros from a nursery grow downward. kitchen peppers grow upward.
I grew a Hot Cherry and they grew upwards like that.
The peppers ranged in size from the size of a large marble to the largest which was the size of a ping pong ball. They had very little heat, even when half ripe and tasted very similar to a bell pepper, I let them continue to the fully ripe red stage and that is when the heat kicked it.
I would say they were similar in heat to a jalapeno but much sweeter.

Are these pods thick-walled ?
Peppadews are. They have a distinct bell pepper flavor, and semi/sub jalapeno-heat.
Whether the Peppadew grows upwards I do not know (not yet at any rate, next season is the first time I will be growing them).
I would expect ripe fruit to dangle because of their size and weight, but small pods might grow upwards.
