Are you SPICE and SWEET

A few questions:

1.  If you like spicy/hot foods, do you also like sweets (candy, cakes, pies)?

2.  Where you "born" liking spicy/hot foods or is it an acquired tasted.

3.  Can you "learn" to like spicy/hot foods?

4.  Is liking spicy/hot foods hereditary?

Thanks for your input.

1. no, don't crave sweets
2. definitely an acquired taste.  I was raised on plain old meat & potatoes, not even onions, green peppers, or mushrooms
3. ABSOLUTELY!~  even hubby and kid eat spicier foods (but don't want to admit it ;) )
4. No- not necessarily hereditary.  Exposure at a young age to spicy foods is wonderful, and I've seen some kids eat some super spicy things.  But there is hope for those who did not grow up eating spicy things.

Some sweets not a favorite though.

I was told that when I was 4 years old I was caught eating the jalapenos in the garden, I can't remember not liking heat and spice

3.  Can you "learn" to like spicy/hot foods?
I would imagine it is possible

4.  Is liking spicy/hot foods hereditary?
No one else in my immediate family likes heat and spice, with the exception of my 3 year old daughter, she seems to be on the same path as I was at her age.

1. Yes, but I am very picky and wont eat them just cause they are there.

2. I dont think anyone was born liking spicy food as I dont think Gerber or Sililac makes any.

3. I think anyone could reprogram themselves to like spicy/hot if done in a slow and diligent maner.

4. I dont believe so. My kids unfortunately do not and contrary to answer 3, they are not interested in being reprogrammed.
