wanted Anyone looking to trade or release a few seeds to a good cause.

First off hello to you all.

My name is Raul and new to the forum. And new to growing chilis. This will be my first complete season. Started late last year around April or March. I live in California and thought that summer was the months to grow and thought I was germinating just in time.and was unaware at the time that it was somewhat late. And because of this didn't really get too many pods of the super hots. I got a ton of habaneros, jalapeños,and ghost peppers but nothing else. But I got a few plants well established. Over wintered them and am hopeful that they will sprout out this spring. Wife said I'm hella crazy but wished me luck on my new endeavor. Love that girl. Had to say it in case she reads this.

Spent a couple hundred dollars so far. Buying seeds, pots, soil, equipment, nutrients, and went out and started a worm farm to get worm casting to help with my plants growth as well. Bought two heat mats build a light system for them. Made two make shift units to house the seedlings. Bought like 200 pounds of soil. Bought over ten different organic fertilizers to try and keep them as safe as I could for my kids to eat them. They really don't they hate the spice. But hopeful that they will come around. Wife bought me a small greenhouse she seen in Home Depot that was affordable. But have no luck on how to properly use it. All my plants or seedlings either died or wilted due to it being so hot. Hence that's why I stated I'm in California. Hoping that someone local could share how they grow there plants.

Long story I know. Sorry but trying to ad as much info as possible. Now on to my post. Looking for someone to trade with or someone kind enough to share seeds with me. I know a lot of people might think that me being new will just jump in here and take everyone's loot. Seeds that is and run and sell or trade them but really only looking to trade for seeds to keep to plant this season or next. And if any of you guys have a few seeds to spare 5 or less of a variety you might have I would gladly appreciate it. Only looking to grow a lot of different plants. Not for trade. And looking to return the favor in the coming year to all who want it. Not looking for anything particular but would love to hear what you guys like. I have started several trades and offered some seeds that I have to some members available. Like I stated I'm new and still learning so please do not bash me or insult me if I ask a stupid question here or there.

Anyone know how to properly use a greenhouse? I fell like an idiot asking that but you guys are the pros. Best place to ask right?

Had to ask.pm me if you wanna trade or send me something if you would like or are able to. Thanks in advance to the guys on here that have been so helpful as of today and thanks in advance to all that reply.

Los Angeles is my city but I grew up in culver city now live off the 105/ 110 freeway. Literally a block off the 105. Send me a pm with what you got. Just checked my zip lock bag and a found a bunch of black or brown seeds. I think I waited to long to moisten the paper cause the sprouts looked dried out with stains. Any advice? Like I stated never tried the paper towel method. Bagged up like ten per towel and saved two or three and now waiting for my pellets to form to plant them. Only looking to grow a plant per variety.

Raul,pm me with what you are interested in I might just have it.If not I have other seeds that I'd be happy to send your way.As far as the greenhouse goes probably need a little more info.,the heat was brutal this year herein southern CA. Just let me know what you are interested in growing and if I ha ve it I'll be more than glad to send it to you.

I use mini greenhouse method to germinate. You already have the heatmats. Take a Tupperware place a paper towel inside lay your seeds on top of the papertowel, spray with water,. Enough to moisten the papertowel. Cover and place over heat mat. Dont ever allow the papertowel to dry out on you.

Welcome to the forum bucdout57!  If you could be a bit more specific on the kinds of peppers you're looking for it would help.  And don't be discouraged - growing good plants takes time and patience.  I learned a lot my first 3-4 years!  Given some time you'll be rewarded with great stuff.  And plant some cukes and tomatoes - the kids will eat those up and learn along with you :)

Thanks I'll try that but my heat mat is so full. I need to pick up another one. Wonder if anyone local has one for sale. Rather buy used to save some cash. Just commuted to buy a box of peppers to share and give away.
