My New Pressure Cooker!!

With my new-found affinity with Indian food, I discovered a very strong need to buy a pressure cooker. I have never used one.....but with an 8QT model.....I'm pretty sure I can make damned good use of it!

Here it is. It's used.....but in fantastic shape. Gasket is perfect.....and the price was 1/3 that of the same item brand new!:

love pressure cookers.

sounds like a small train when you cook.... or at least the weight shaker ones do.

have you ever seen the super old pressure cookers they made in like... the 1930's?
back then they didn't know how to do progressive die forming, so they were all just aluminum or steel castings... like 1/4" thick. things were built like nuclear reactors.

Nice Score!  And so versatile!  A small cooker like that is on my wish-list.  I use my full sized pressure cooker to cook 2 gallons of beans for black bean salsa,  so many times I wish I had a small one to do a couple cups of beans.

Looking forward to what kind of awesome goodness you'll be cookin' up.

PS- it'll also work for pressure canning AlabamaJack's chile puree.  ;)

I may fool around with this one for a bit....but I didn't do my homework before puling the trigger.

I hear the SS versions are much nicer.

BUT....for 23 bucks......I can cut my teeth on it before making a larger investment!

Agreed! I only have the large one that I use for canning. My dad has me 80% there to buying one for those hard to get tender meats.

Nice P2K! I know it helps to sear/brown the roasts before pressure cooking them. These things are amazing! I just bought one about a month ago and I have used it no less thN once or twice a week since we got it. When/if you're ever wanting to step it up, have a look at this... http://thehotpepper.com/topic/51986-my-new-indoor-smoker/#entry1086627

Okay....now I have to have one of those too.

Check out this site for PC info. Almost a bible. Www.missvickie.com. And remember with pressure cookers bigger IS better.
