Solem 2015

Alright, here we go again. Most of my seeds hit the dirt today. I will be using a plot at the community garden as well as the beds at my house. I started a few rocoto seeds earlier this year but they have not been too happy so far. I tried a different seed starting mix for them and I don't think I will be using again. I used my mix that I used last year for the big tray. Mix consists of peat, perlite, mykos and some kelp meal. Had great results with it so I will probably just stick with that mix. If it aint broke, dont fix it!

Here is the grow list. There may be some changes additions but this is it....for now.

Thanks everyone! We will see what happens. Last year was very heavy on the chinense side and I wanted to try and mix it up a bit this year.

Good to see you in the growlogosphere, Rom!  That's a pretty impressive list!
Thanks Paul. Its still minor leagues compared to what you have going on at your place! I mean't to comment in your glog about your bonzai trees, Are they a special type of pine for bonzai? They are absolutely beautiful my friend! Well done. I admire the patience it takes to cultivate something like that. I am trying one bonchi this year that is an xplosive ember. We will see what happens...

Your EE should make a great bon chi, Rom!

Thanks, my friend; my pines are mostly Japanese black Pines
and a few I don't know- they were volunteers in my yard.

I have basically confined my pruning to candleing on
the three smaller ones, so far.  Sometime I'm going
to have to thin out some wood.

Good luck with that bon chi!

Great looking list, Rom.  I hope that Neon NWYB turns out for you.
Thanks John. Your's looks great as well. I wish I had the space for all the plants that you are growing. We will see what happens with the neon...you never know until you try I guess!

Good luck with sowing all your seeds. I hope they pop swiftly for you!

Hey Walt!

Man you brought this glog back from the depths. Everything is going great outside of the garden. Inside the garden is another story. I had a hard time germinating this year. I messed with my seed start mix and didn't realize that was the problem until I was just too far behind. I hope to get at least one good flush of fruit before frost on most. A few OW will give me most of my harvest this year though. I just have not had the time this year with work and we are expecting a child in November. (I am losing my germ room to the nursery...)

I have a community garden plot this year but it has not seen much attention either. Just enough to keep the weeds kind of at bay. I'm frustrated with the community space though. They preach about only using organics and then when I go to my plot my plants have herbicide damage. Last year had the same problem except I though it was some sort of mites. I was wrong. Most likely from the city trying to keep the walkways clear of weeds. Probably just stick to my spots around the house.

All in all, with the amount of effort I have put in, things are going well. I can't really complain.

I will try to get some pics at some point.

Hope you are doing well!
