Making Sriracha hotter?

Is it possible to add some of my peppers to my bottle of sriracha without the peppers rotting in the bottle or will it still be good? And if so, how can I do it?

Put it in the microwave ;)

I woudnt add peppers to it,make a sriracha type sauce with your peppers maybe? Or buy some pure evil and put a few drops into it. The pure evil will last you years.
If only they sold pure evil on amazon and was under 25 dollars. I got an amazon gift card a few weeks ago was thinking about getting some Ultimate Insanity sauce.  :P

Yeah you could. I would prob go with powder though. Embty the bottle blend the powder in and rebottle it.

I have some carolina reaper powder i got a few months ago would that work?

You could put a little more vinegar in the Sriracha. Or, go on line and buy some potassium sorbate and/or sodium bisulfite These seem to be the most common preservatives used in foods. I use those two in my homemade Sriracha without any problems for the year or so it takes to use up a batch.

Sriracha already has vinegar, potasium sorbate and sodium bisulfite in it.  I agree wiuth sirex, don't use fresh pods, use any kind of hotter red pepper powder.  If the bottle is partially empty, funnel in a teaspoon or 2 of powder and shake the snot out of it.  It might make the sauce a bit thicker, so maybe add a tablespoon or 2 of water if needed after the powder re-hydrates.

Sorry about no Pure Evil on Amazon, it used to be there through a retailer.  I've been considering selling there myself, just haven't gotten it all set up.  Sounds like I should get on it though, since not everyone does paypal...

Let us know what you do for your Sriracha and how it turns out.

"Sriracha already has vinegar, potasium sorbate and sodium bisulfite in it."

I was thinking about returning to the proper ratios if new material was added to an ongoing batch. That's why a bit more vinegar, ps, and sb might be a good idea. But, the powder sounds like a better way to go as any dilution would be minimal.

Ah, I see what you mean.  That would be something to consider if using fresh peppers which would change the pH a bit.  There was another thread recently about Sriracha (I think we were discussing PET bottles), anyway, I tested the Sriracha I have and the pH was 3.55-3.56.  It wouldn't take too many fresh pods to bring that up.

PS- I finally got off my butt and contacted Amazon, both FreshAmazon for the refrigerated Chipotle Mustard and Ghost Fire hot sauce and regular Amazon for selling Pure Evil.  "someone will contact you soon."  :)

Those both sound amazing! Hopefully they let you sell em on there cause i'd sure as hell buy some from you :D
And i squirted about half the bottle out into a bowl and added a couple shakes of my carolina reaper powder, mixed it, and put it back in the bottle, is there anything else i should do to it or because its a powder i wont have to do anything?

You should be fine pH-wise adding powder, nothing to worry about.  When the powder rehydrates it will soak up some of the liquid in the bottle, so you may want to add a tablespoon or 2 of water if it gets to thick.

I sideways ballsack Amazon Prime ...

I almost bought some P.E. in my recent order, but I barely find use of the Lethal Ingestion that I already have ...

Watch, though, next time I place an order w/ something expensive that's going on a CC anyways, I'll add the P.E. to the cart because that's just how I roll ...

It's a couple bucks cheaper on our website, but for those ordering other stuff or have a gift card, it's convenient.  Gotta compensate for that FindersFee unfortunately.  Just went Live on Tuesday and got my first 2 orders today!   :woohoo:

Wait. There are people tech savvy enough to buy on Amazon, but don't have Paypal?
