That box was in their same larger box from the chef's campaign ...

how do you like the chefs knife compared to what you had been using and how is the edge holding up ?

I like the feel of it but my JA is always in rotation - now with gas time to get my chef swag back and use it more.

That Misen is kinda pricey for a made in PRC knife but i like the looks of it. A Tojiro DP (Made in Japan) is around the same cost. About $80 for a 8" Chefs and atm on sale for $99 for the set with a pairing knife. Ive owned several AUS-8 knives in the past and they were pretty good depending on the country of origin. The Boker i had was the best but still not in the same league as the German Soligen steel they use on many of their knives.

Probably ten years ago they had a limited supply of some blade styles with ebony handles for a small upcharge.  I didn't pull the trigger and have long regretted that.
