New Adds

Have been getting more and more things I consider spam.  Is It my computer,is there a way I can stop it? Is it new advertising for the site and If so,awesome thing would be if you have a membership it stops.  Its so bad that I have to clear out two pop ups that contain hot sauce, seeds and other fire/growing things every time I change threads. Its only happening on this site.

Ok. why would I have to use it for only one site,or is that the deal you have to use it whenever a site gets "crowded" or whatever the nerd term is.  And If I never had to use it befor why would i have to now? I mean I can deal with adds on the bottom and top but when they take up half of your screen is about the time I check out.

It's not the site, unless you are talking about some ads guests only see, so make sure you are logged in.

Update: I clicked something and it said I wouldnt have a chance to buy anything for a month, lol. Good if me being able to see my screen means i cant buy a bunch of crap im down. " No disrespect to any of the products but if im not looking for it I dont need to see it."  If I want a lamp I wont be coming to THP to shop for one

If you see pop ups check your computer.

FF, ghostery, noscript ... That's the only way I Internet on a PC ...

I don't have to use anything on a Mac, because it's a superior machine in every imaginable way ... lol.

Can you post a screenshot of these "adds"? Could be a virus on your end... try installing adblock plus and seeing if they go away...

Also, adblock plus is f**kin awesome on any site you visit...try to imagine what its like watching any youtube video you want without waiting for the adds...

Unless you like playing video games...

There is lots of Browser corrupting stuff out there. It often sneaks in with legit looking downloads and updates. While not necessarily a virus, it takes over your browser and turns it into a advertising machine. I consider myself fairly savvy but it happened to me a few years ago on Firefox. You may want to nuke your current browser (save your bookmarks first). I have had good luck with Chrome and turning javascript off.
