vendor Lucky Dog Hot Sauce

I was lucky enough to be one of the recent winners that Scott had last week for the first to reply to a thread. I went with the Pink label. Wow I never thought I would like the smoke flavor in any sauce but boy oh boy was I wrong. It has an amazing flavor profile and just the right amount of heat to make this a really enjoyable hot sauce. This sauce could literally go on anything you want to try it with. Its so good on its own that just sitting there with a tsp of it on its own is great. I would highly recommend this sauce for anyone and everyone looking for a great tasting sauce with medium heat(by my standards). Its a winner Scott and once again a BIG THANK YOU !!!

Great service, great price and a great product.   Thank you Scott.  Everything arrived quickly and in perfect shape.  Pretty sure there was an extra in there too.
Woot! Glad they got there ok - thank you for your order!

I saw that on one of his earlier posts. It is damn good as is in my opinion.
It's good enough that I entered it in the Screaming Mimi's in NY for next month's competition - but it's not as good as it'll be when it's right.
;)

How is it there is only 4 pages of Praise here for Lucky Dog Hot Sauce ?

I have not only liked, but thoroughly enjoyed every flavor I have tried so far.

I don't consider myself a total hot sauce newb, I have probably tried 25+ different sauces.
No other Sauce bottles in our house have ever gone empty this fast!

 Delicious!

that's it? lol

Have you tried black or pink yet?

I agree w/ that lol, but you have to realize, i didn't use HS before it ... and it's really hard to talk about something w/o others to compare/contrast with =)

Since then, I've ran through all three bottles of Ken's and just opened the SOH Reaper de Muerte because of Boss's rec ... then it's pink and black time ;)

The SOH Reaper de Muerte is sooo tasty, it usually doesn't even make it on food- I just sip it off a spoon! Savor the flavor!  But this is Luck Dog's thread..

Your going to love the Pink label! It is def. my current favorite..thought the black would be, but I oddly found it much more mild heat wise than the pink (thought they were same levels of heat(?), only difference being in roasted peppers or not..but I very much loved the black otherwise..did not last long!)  Have only the Red label left in my 'stash'- don't even have to expect it will be good...just know it will be already! :dance:

Different peppers, different burns. Pink Label is slightly more intense, as it's ghost pepper. Black label is Moruga Scorpion, and as such it creeps up on you. after a few bites, Black Label is hotter than Pink Label, but it's an overall burn whereas Pink Label tends to really burn the tongue & back of the throat.

Thanks for the great feedback though, much appreciated!

I guess I need to get better at soliciting feedback from members who purchase from me - I always figure if people like it they'll post about it on their own & don't need me pushing them to post about it.

One day very very soon I will be placing my first order (I'm sure I've said that before but this time it's true). I'm kinda embarrassed, I think I'm the only member of THP who hasn't tried these sauces. It's not because I don't think their good because I believe every word that all these people say about Lucky Dog. I just can't stop buying seeds and plant sales from Judy and from FB lol. I also have a feeling they're going to be too good and then I'm going to have to start buying a case a month to feed my addiction. In all seriousness I've had the ones I want to try picked out since before Christmas and I will finally be placing my first order very soon and I'm positive I'll be adding my own glowing comments here. Right after I buy a few more of Jim Duffy's FB plug specials and John Ford's seed sales  :lol:

I plan to use LDHS relatively exclusively for my base HS, the same way I mostly get powder from JHP ... and LDHS is the one I recommend when someone's looking (as Booma was the other day) ...

Consistency (from experience and probably larger batch sizes), convenience (functional website), availability (I want what I want to be there when I want it), and finally quality determine sourcing for me ...

Okay I just got to use my friends Huge Smoker, that I have been storing for him since fall, :woohoo:  & I used 3/4 a bottle of Brown Label :dance:  added to my Mop Spray among a few other things (First a rub of Barrel House BBQ spice and Guldens mustard, then a Mop Spray periodically throughout smoking process, made of; 3/4 bottle of Brown Label, a little bit of my Yellow 7 pot Mustard, rice Vinegar,Agave nectar, dash of Worcester, olive oil) to smoke some Pork back ribs..!
Slow smoked with a blend of wood we had on hand ( Oak-50%,Hickory-30%,& Mesquite-20% ) :onfire:   The remaining 1/4 bottle got almost all used up as dipping sauce for the smoked Cornish hens, it was also fantastic on smoked Swedish Pork/Potato Sausage!

I have a feeling I am going to get the "pics or it didn't happen" response I have read here before, however I am new, VERY new, I did take pictures,but I don't know how to post a pic...
I don't have Facebook, or belong to any picture hosting sites.  That being said, if anyone would like to help me out with any tips on posting pics (as simply as possible)  :confused:
it would be very much appreciated  :dance:

Anyway Scott I am going to NEED more of that Brown Label, do you have an estimate as to when the new formula will be released, and will this one be gone when the new one is released ?

oh, & not only was it a beautiful day most of the day... but there was a Hail storm about 10 mins AFTER we were finally done smoking everything!  :woohoo:  :dance:   :party:   :dance:

I haven't transplanted out yet, so the brief Hail storm was barely an inconvenience  :party:

Sounds delicious.

Here's a simple marinade for pork or chicken that I love:
Triple B Marinade

3 Tbsp Brown Label
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
2 oz Bourbon

Marinate 8-24 hours & BBQ

enough for 4 pork chops or ~2lbs chicken parts

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The new Brown will be made 1 week from today - which means it'll likely be in my possession a week from Friday. I'll try to get it online ASAP after that.
Not sure if the "old" Brown will still be around at that time - I've got less than 15 CS left of the 200 I made and it's been going fast!
There could be a brief cross-over where I have both, but I doubt I'll have them both online at the same time to avoid confusion.
Thanks Scott,
Just received my order
Ate a couple tablespoons of the Pink Label, on some leftover Turkey as it was what the Wife served for Lunch today.
(I contemplated just opening up a bottle and taking a pic of me eating one of the Starch-Packing-peanuts with sauce on it  :rofl: than thought, that might be a little ridiculous.)
In my opinion, while this isn't going to burn the carp out of you unless you have a lower tolerance to heat. It Will get used more than something that would, and is as the back of the label says; "Respectably hot"
as well as delicious !
I haven't tried 1 of your sauces that I didn't like Scott, they all bring on the Flavor like a Sauce should.
Thanks again
