Black pearl vs black prince

I was wondering if these are the same pepper or they just look very similar? I have seen many pictures and they look almost identical.

Im wondering the same, only found the two on ebay and bought both so hope they are what they say they are.
Tho the Black Pearl looks to be round the Black Prince seems to have more of a cone?

Not the same pepper at all, though some vendors sell black prince as black pearl.
+1  these are not at all alike in any way
Black Pearl is marble sized pods with dark foliage
Black Prince is tiny pods.smaller than a popcorn kernel, with mostly greenish purple foliage

I think Midwestchileheads.com has Black Pearl. He sent me some as a bonus when I ordered from him, He's got a solid reputation here.
Thanks for the tip, thi they didnt have the black pearl as i could find, they did have the black prince (and a few others id liked and bought)

Black Pearl pic for reference:

My Black pearls were as the pics above show-the difference in green leaf color.
But I think my original plants were a more red/purple.
Only the new growth was semi green/purple on the Pearls.

Black prince could be almost all purple/green in Southern exposure-TONS of hours of sun.
Still had green leaves with purple tones at most unless in direct sun.
Then dark green with purple.

Pods on both are different in shape and black prince doesn't cluster the sane(tighter plant).

IF I remember right,Black pearl was a LOT tighter/compact plant too, no matter the size.
Pods were tighter together too.

Prince was more like a common type ornamental.Lots of pods distributed but not in tight clusters.
There are also several varieties that are called or sold as whatever by vendors.
Check out Black Prince,Black Pearl,Black Namaqualana,Black Manaquelana,Black Cuban,Black Cluster and a few more.

Vendors can sell a lot of these as another pepper.
See how vendors sell the same thing under different names, even though the seeds might be from the same plant.
Re naming stuff is very common these days.
With super hots especially.
Anything in demand or new names makes $.
Not that EVERYONE does it.
Just whatever people buy as a new whatever sells.

I do have the Black Pearl as well as the Black Prince. They are similar, but as others have said, they have different pod shapes. The Black Pearls are round and shiny while the Black Prince has more elongated pods. Both are ornamentals, so they are not good for eating.

I do not currently sell the Black Pearl, however. After listing it, I discovered it is a plant protected variety, so sellers must be licensed. Not having a license, I removed it from my site.
