Bluesman´s 2015

This season is a wild season. Previous seasons I have my greenhouse 90% full of chilis, now very little.

I´ll post some pics of a typical season in Finland.

Bonda ma Jacques produced  13,5kg (29lbs) during the season.

Next time I post I try not to put so many fotos.

Welcome to the glogs :)
Nice and very big plants you had there Bluesman. And so full of pods... I have to say I'm a little jealous. The pots seem tiny compared to the plants.
How about this season?

You must be very good at growing. Good work!

Thank you. The NFT is unbelievable for chilis. the whole root system of a 3m tall plant fits on A4 paper. The bucket isn´t small, 90 liters.

great job ! what did you feed those monsters ?     :onfire:
EC 1,6 normal hydro 2-component fertilizer. I didn´t even bother to cover the buckets, so there was green algae masses but the chilis didn´t seem to care.

Hey Bluesman do you have close pics of your NFT system? Looking at if from here I cant figure out how its a NFT. The pic on the right looks like DWC. Reason Im asking was that I had my plants in a home made NFT but they were moved outside to DWC. Either way your plants look amazing.

A short history of a DIY NFT (Nutrient Film Technique).

What you need is a plasterbucket, plywood, (water resistant) plastic with knobs, speader sheet film, a waterpump, rockwool cubes and nutrient liquid.
A good advice; put a couple of chilis into the RW, you might even get some crop.

Other than chilis like NFT too. Here´s a Passiflora edulis torn out from NFT. 8m long.

Overwintering C.cardenasii has very delicate flowers. It had a 2 month break in flowering. No starting up again.

tovariibeeren.jpg

C.tovarii starts its 4th season. Heavily flowering and setting up some pods too.

C.tovarii has very pretty flowers. Sadly the yellow tint of the flower doesn´t show here much.

CAP1491.jpg

C.sp (close to C.eximium) CAP1491. Also overwintered but the seedlings are flowering too.

Awesome!!!! Looks great... What camera do you use?
Nikon D7000 with a Micro-Nikkor or Medical Nikkor for closeups.

The pre-growroom in the backroom of the garage. Used to be my kids musictherapy room and also graffiti art room.
Now all the kids are grownups and I have a place to play with my toys.

This season my wife said she would kick me out if I had as many chilis as before. Should I go? Naw, I have just more tomatoes instead of chilis.
The number of plants remains about the same.

I think it was Medical Nikkor that has in-built ringflash.

Awesome.  I keep having to go back and look at the posting dates to see that you're doing all this now.  How much is your electric bill every month?

A lot. But to pay a little for a good hobby is worth the cost. The greenhouse time is starting now. It helps a little but I still have to heat it up for about a month. Nightfrosts can occur sometimes even in June here in Finland.

Frosts in June.  Ouch!  Reminds of wilderness hiking in Wyoming with water bottles freezing at night and getting caught in snow storms... in August.  Here in Arkansas we've had snow or frost the last two years in the first part of May, but that is very unusual.
