Alrighty folks! It's almost plant out time and that means that my basement and lights are going to be freed up for some crossing projects through the summer.

I have 4 DWC buckets available for growing peppers indoors all summer. (not to mention racks for seedling growout)
2 spots are already taken by White Fatalii and CGN-21500.

These Plants will be the Base for all my other crosses. Meaning that I will use pollen from plants that are outdoors in the rest of my collection crossed with these. These will be tagged and harvested and grown out in the basement to choose phenos. I'm planning on going for taste more than heat.

Plants to choose from

My biggest focus will be crossing the White Fatalii with CGN-21500 but will do plenty of other crosses with them as well.

Y'all are more than welcome to offer suggestions as to what you would like to see crossed with what as well. I'm sure I will be sharing seeds with most of you at some point (prolly F2? maybe some F1's)

LOL nah man, the bitterness got me on this one, the heat was bad enough but the taste was just too much. And that's just me trying a small slice of it.

Almost makes me feel like  I got my seeds mixed up though I highly doubt that.

The f1 d3 goat was really bitter and hot as fck.

The f1 el scorponero was really smooth heat. My absolute favorite powder was made from it. Hopefully it's just the one pheno. I think I got 5 or 6 plants going myself of the f2

Yeah nah the 1st plant was exactly as you said, El scorpenero F2 first plant (couple of pages before this) was hot, but the taste was real subtle, was awesome. This one is definitely different. You always get these weirdo phenos I'm sure. It's like with Aji Inti, there is always one. I still have 2 more El Scorpeneros with green pods so will see what they're like.

Actually dude, I was wondering if you have Numex Twilight or Bolivian Rainbow growing, that you could cross with a chinense of some kind? Ive been trying to cross those two and Reapers/Dorset Nagas for a while, but no luck. I'd love to grow out one of those and get one that actually has the same (or similar) colour effect but still retain some kind of a chinense taste/heat/size etc.

Between the two of us we'll get it to F6-7 in no time.

I plan on doing some crosses with Blue Christmas this year and I managed to get one seed to germinate from my aji Omni color x moa bonnet.

Here's blue christmas for reference (not my vid but a pic of one my seedlings below)

I know it's doable but I haven't had any luck with crossing annums yet. I kept trying a serrano cross two years ago and just couldn't get it to take.
Oh dude, but aji omni x moa bonnet that'd be exactly what I was thinking of. The colour is there, and the moa bonnet's a chinense from memory.

Man I hope you get a ton of seeds off that. I'd be so insanely keen to grow that one out. I'll put aside like 10 growbags just for that.

Yea I'll def be saving most the seeds. Just glad I managed to even get a plant out of it. All the seeds were runty and thin.

I'm doing blue Christmas hoping to get something with pretty foliage and tasty pods. Not sure what i'm going to try crossing it with yet.

I've been following, nice looking plants. I might have to score a pod or two from paul to see how they taste. Lots of neat de neyde crosses floating around.

@SentencedToBurn Seeds got here yesterday. I still need to pick up some soil to get them started and figure out which pheno was which.

Awesome dude, I'm about to test the last two El Scorpeneros and will send the next set of seeds to you next week.

Also I'm getting a new tunnel house in the next couple of weeks to get myself ready for the next season. Just doing small growbags this time but a lot more plants. I dont need the volume, just need to be able to grow out a lot more samples. So next year I'll be ready to do like 100+ plants hopefully.

Ok I got the new tunnelhouse just for your crosses next year man. I might keep a few seeds from the plants I have now and grow them out, to see how they go over winter.

This tunnelhouse is nowhere near as insulated as my other greenhouse, but the heater I'll be using is twice as grunty so will see how the temperature keeps in here.

The size is 12' x 7' x 7' so I can fit a lot more plants in there this time.

That's awesome, nice size too! Is it tied down or anything?
Hey man. I've got a few pegs in it, but tomorrow putting down a bunch of weights along the walls inside and hooking them up to the frame to hold both the plastic and the frame. So this thing will withstand all winter no problem.

I am a bit concerned about the crappy plastic, but over the next few weeks I'm gonna make plywood back and front sections (one with a proper door), and bolt them up, and then later will replace this current plastic with proper farm-grade stuff. All I was really after was the frame which is solid as.

Tried 3rd and 4th El Scorpenero today.

Will dry the seeds over the next few days and send these and the rest of the varieties I haven't sent yet. I hope its not too late, just our summer this year was the shittest one in as long as I can remember.

El Scorpenero F2 Plant 3: Smaller pod (although there were only a couple on the plant), pretty bitter, very strong chinense smell with not much else that I could tell. Pretty average. Pretty hot, I'd say about same as a standard bhut jolokia and the heat is very quick.

El Scorpenero F2 Plant 4: Bigger, no placenta pretty much, the seeds were sitting on the inside. Much nicer smell than p3, no bitterness in the taste at all, hard to say what the taste is like, some kind of fruit for sure, not too sweet but maybe a bit sour. Not 100% sure, but very nice. Heat similar to p3, about same as a bhut maybe, but the heat is a bit slower building, but not as slow as some.
