Alrighty folks! It's almost plant out time and that means that my basement and lights are going to be freed up for some crossing projects through the summer.

I have 4 DWC buckets available for growing peppers indoors all summer. (not to mention racks for seedling growout)
2 spots are already taken by White Fatalii and CGN-21500.

These Plants will be the Base for all my other crosses. Meaning that I will use pollen from plants that are outdoors in the rest of my collection crossed with these. These will be tagged and harvested and grown out in the basement to choose phenos. I'm planning on going for taste more than heat.

Plants to choose from

My biggest focus will be crossing the White Fatalii with CGN-21500 but will do plenty of other crosses with them as well.

Once the poll is complete Thursday night- the two winning plants will be moved to the hydro system and this thread will serve as my grow log for this project.

Y'all are more than welcome to offer suggestions as to what you would like to see crossed with what as well. I'm sure I will be sharing seeds with most of you at some point (prolly F2? maybe some F1's)

Nice, sounds like plant 4 is the better of the two. It made my favorite powder last summer. Hopefully it retains some of that quality dried. I remember it having a very pleasant smell no bitter.

Don't even bother saving seeds from plant 3.

Sucks to hear about your summer. This is the warmest spring I remember having here. Been getting a lot of 60 to upper 70 degree days (15.5 - 25c) averaging 95 (35c) in the greenhouse already. Could end up being nasty hot here.

+1 #742 - it's always an education checking in on your grow log, Michael!

Always intresting to catch up with your crosses .... and great to read you are getting some warm spring sunshine

Thanks, if the aji omni color x MOA bonnet cross turns out any good i'll shoot some seeds your way. I know how you like the bonnets.

Thank you. I've been neglecting it. Well i've been neglecting the site as a whole. I been browsing from my phone mostly and too lazy to comment on posts.

I'd say that cross deserves a really wide f2 grow to try to get a good color changing pheno if possible
I agree for sure! I just wish I could of got more than one f1 seed to germinate.

Tried 3rd and 4th El Scorpenero today.

Will dry the seeds over the next few days and send these and the rest of the varieties I haven't sent yet. I hope its not too late, just our summer this year was the shittest one in as long as I can remember.

El Scorpenero F2 Plant 3: Smaller pod (although there were only a couple on the plant), pretty bitter, very strong chinense smell with not much else that I could tell. Pretty average. Pretty hot, I'd say about same as a standard bhut jolokia and the heat is very quick.

El Scorpenero F2 Plant 4: Bigger, no placenta pretty much, the seeds were sitting on the inside. Much nicer smell than p3, no bitterness in the taste at all, hard to say what the taste is like, some kind of fruit for sure, not too sweet but maybe a bit sour. Not 100% sure, but very nice. Heat similar to p3, about same as a bhut maybe, but the heat is a bit slower building, but not as slow as some.

I'm playing out in the greenhouse for a bit today, it's bloody hot in there. Potting up a few plants and sowed a few of the seeds you sent. I'm sowing El scorponero f3 from plant 1 , the yellow pheno of D3 goat from plant 2, D3 goat plant 1 and the aji inti from plant 1.  I'll try and get some pics of the plants while i'm out poking around in them.

Hey man I've sent the last set of seeds today, I know its real late but with this summer being so crappy they took forever to ripen. I have 2 more plants here but didnt want to wait too long. Even the ones I sent out will probably be too late but thats the best I could do this year.

No problem man, I can still sow them and probably get some ripe pods. I'll be sure to plant into pots and finish in greenhouse if I need to

Ok this was quite a runty plant from the start, but then grew to full size, was just always a bit behind.

El Scorpenero F2 Plant 5

Shape/colour: this is fully ripened, I kept it there for like 3 weeks as I thought it wasnt fully ripe. This is it man, that's the final colour. Looks awesome, and check out that shape. Wicked!

Smell, I thought I lost my sense of smell, had to ask my wife. No smell at all. Literally none. It's my first time trying a chinense of any type where tehre wasnt any smell at all. Not just no chinense smell, but nothing at all.

Heat, about 150K maybe? Not that hot, but still hot enough to make me cough. I actually took about 1/4 of it in the end as it tasted so amazing and the heat wasnt too harsh.

Taste. Ok, I had to look through the previous post, to see whether I'm losing my marbles or what. One thing I know for sure is that I did not mix the varieties. The labels are stapled to bags, I keep everything separated, etc. The taste is sour apple. No doubt about it. No idea how it can happen since you were expecting it to happen with Aji Inti, but here we are. Im drying these out, will send them to you, and will keep a few to start here as well just to try and make up for such a late one, since you're already pretty much in the middle of your season.

Awesome, interesting that it has no smell what so ever.

I got a few of the previous batch you sent germinated and just sowed the last batch you sent.

I've been slack posting updates. One of my Painapple clones is putting out pods. The first pods from the mother plant fell off, but these are all staying on and growing.

I don't have a new pic handy of the mother plant, but all the clones are about this size give or take.

Can't wait to see how the Painapple looks. That was my favorite of the ones you sent. I'm finally going to get some seeds going soon. I saved those so I will definitely grow them out.

Awesome, thanks for the updates. Peter those are looking good, maybe too early to tell for sure but looks like it might be a thick walled pheno.

Everyone really liked the painapple I hope there's some keepers in f2

Dude I cannot wait for this one man. Agree with Malarky, baccatum flowers and multiple flowers per node hopefully equals the right combination. I'll put like 30 growbags aside just for this cross if you'll get this many F2 seeds man.
