greenhouse Looking for a 15' x 10' Greenhouse.

Hey THP,

I was wondering if anyone can help me find a 15' x 10' greenhouse, the two best I found were  20' x 10' and 12' x 7'.
Could any of you help me out and find one? I have been trying for a while now and can't find one near my measurements to fit my two grow boxes inside plus a little extra walking room.

... Or can anyone give advice on building a really nice greenhouse?

Thanks for your time.

15' x 10' is still pretty sizeable. You might be able to get by for less than $200. Light gauge PVC frame and a roll of 6 mil plastic sheeting. .

Good info there.  Also teh googler is your friend for DIY Green houses - I found plans for free via Mother Earth News.

You can get 10' lengths of 1" sch 40 PVC for about a buck fifty each, plus all of the elbow and tee fittings. Or you could go with 5' lengths with a tee in-between each to set your hoop supports. Should be able to get all of your frame supplies for less than $50.The roll of plastic sheeting will set you back about $70. A hoop house would probably be best to suit your purposes AND go easiest7 on the wallet.

if he wants 10' he'll need atleast 15' long arches =]  (2*pi*r for circumference of circle).

but yeah, just google diy hoophouse.

Yep... and now my thinking cap is on. I was thinking a PVC hoop house, with a garden hose connection on one corner, and 5 mister nozzles mounted on each arch.... Hmmmmm. You can buy the nozzles dirt cheap on Amazon.

On second thought, might see too much pressure drop. Probably easier to just attach a misting system to the arches with zip ties

Midwestchilihead - I have never understood those framer kits.  Its just the brackets right?  They sell the brackets individually at every good size hardware / lumber store ( Lowes comes to mind).  Is it just a convenience thing?

It is the brackets and plans. The plans include a lumber shopping list and a cut list. It makes for a pretty sturdy building.

Now that I think about it, if it includes the cut angles for the roof... well hell not having to do math would make it worth it.  Not kidding, I have made some seriously screwed up roofs in my time.

That is the really nice thing about the Northern Tool kits - no angle cuts. All straight cuts and the brackets make the necessary angles for you, which was good for me because I can't figure out angles to save my life. Algebra was a real challenge for me ;-)

12 x 12 hoophouse built with the top rail from a chain link fence, I love mine and plan to build a bigger one (20x24) at the next house. The first pic is just the frame, the 2nd one is the completed greenhouse, in December...30-40 degrees outside and it wold still get up to 80-90 in the greenhouse when the sun was out.
