pests bug id.

  My plants are the first thing in the yard thats green besides grass.What is taking bites and how do I kill it.Thanks

The leaves I have that look like that are getting hit by caterpillars, snails, and slugs. All of them leave holes like that behind.
 
Top pic looks like hail, bottom like snail or slug.
 
So maybe 2 holes on one plant from a pest? I wouldnt worry.
 
use copper collars or loosely wrap a copper wire around the base of the trunk. This will help with soft bodied pests like slugs, etc.
 
I had a slug problem two years ago, this helped a lot. Maybe not a perfect fix, but the difference was significant.
