Black Beauty Eggplant yield

Hi!
This is my first year growing eggplant, I have one Black Beauty plant growing in a container.  My question is:  what is considered a good yield on an eggplant (plant)?  (How many fruit to be expected over the season)
I just want to know how much eggplant goodness to expect!

I've grown black beauty egg plant and zucchini.  Did not weight them, but do remember maybe five per plant on the egg plants.  Five fairly large fruits compared to some of the other variety I have grown.  Enough that I am thinking unless you have a fairly large container, the fruit might make the thing fall over.

Five per season or per "flush"?  Are they like peppers where they will continuously produce?
The plant is about 3 feet tall from the soil line right now, the container is pretty heavy (at least when wet)

How big is your pot? I only grow in ground and as ajdrew said I get about 5, maybe six good size eggplants. I usually grow 4 plants. If you're growing in a small container you'll get less to harvest and smaller in weight.

I only got one round from mine, but I do not start inside so I can not be sure if they had more time.  Same for cuttings, I just dont know.  Sorry, but egg plant are not a huge seller for me so I don't do much more than put the seeds in the ground and then make some egg plant sandwiches when they are ready.  I do know that is why I stick with black beauty, they are fairly large and sandwich like.

Its in one of the hydro grow boxes that i grow my peppers in.  Dang, I was hoping for more than 5!  How big were your plants that you grew in the ground?  This one is about 3 feet tall right now (from the soil line).

I have harvested 8 eggplants for 5.35 lbs so far... there are 15 more eggplants in various stages of growth and tons more flowers on top of that...  so... is this abnormal?

I'm growing a Japanese variety this year that has 4 fruit on it now with 12 other blossoms. It's in a 3 gallon container and doing great. This is my first time growing eggplant .

Ok, this will be my last update because im sick of eggplants and im going to kill the plant off.

Total 1 plant harvest as of 07/25/2015:
37 eggplants for a total weight of 28 lbs, 6 oz.

Found 3 more tearing the plant down...
40 eggplants for total weight of 30 lbs, 12 oz.

That was one hard working productive plant.

May she rest in piece. :flamethrower:

That greedy b :censored: was drinking 3 gallons of hydro nutes *dry* every day.

Oh. P.S.
I have photos of all 40 eggplants that were harvested, each one on a digital scale... I planned on making an eggplant documentary (like my last pepper video) but it just seems like a lot of work and im not sure anyone cares...

wow thats allot of nutes. no wonder you put her to rest.

I didn't grow black beauty this year I did grow Thai long green, Ping tung and one from the mid East called Aswad along with a variety that produces cherry tomato size eggplants we had shitty weather and more flea beetles, aphids and potato bugs than I have ever seen. The Aswad eggplant has produced the best it makes big 1-3 pound round and some what flattened deep purple eggs with some white streaks. One of the biggest Aswad plants nearly 4 ft tall has given me 10 really nice size eggs about a 1 1/2 pound eggs so I was very happy with it right now it has 3 more eggs starting. The rest of mt eggplants didn't do much at all, as the cold rain during spring that flooded the garden set them back then things turned hot with high humidity and more rain brought on all sorts diseases, so next year I'm going to graft my plants to see if all the hype I have heard is true. I'm really tired of planting a garden just to have everything die.
