pests Is this aphid damage?

So I found aphids in my garden for the first time ever, I knew my luck would run out sooner or later. I have been spraying neem oil and soap and have not seen any since. Now they have been getting pounded by downpour rain and high wind. Will these plants recover? or does it look like something else is going on? mites?

I had that exact same issue with about 5 plants, they did recover and there were no mites or any bad bug to be found. I never found the root cause and scratched it up as a poor plant gene issue. The plants that had the issue were scattered all over and each was next to 100% healthy plants.

I've been told those narrow, funky leaves were from mite damage, but I'll let a more seasoned vet diagnose this one.

Yeah I heard the same but a high powered magnifying glass for me did not find a single one...might not be the case for the OP however

I always thought it was over fert when it happened to me... Same deal. Couldn't find bugs under magnification

I have had leaves look like that and I checked under 100x microscope with nothing there as well. It turned out to be a mutation. I thought, COOL, but then it was SO slow, I ended up culling it.

It is possible the aphids transmitted some sort of virus to the plant (this happens quite a lot actually) My suggestion is, if you do have more plants and do not hold this one very highly, if the state doesn't improve. pluck it and burn that mofo

IMHO it looks like a mite species. I had mites last year, sadly. Are you within the states?ucdavis will give you a positive diagnosis whether if it is mites or a virus for free! It only takes them 2-3 days too. The mosaic patterns on some leaves leads me to this conclusion.
Let me know if you need more info.

Early growth gets a good blast of sunlight it will wrinkle them up just like that
Yes ,even if accepted hardening protocols are followed are followed
Yes,it is on a per plant basis,I watch plants like this and often cull them regardless of stage.
They are weak and Im not pressed to nurture weak genetics

Its ALL my peppers and half of my tomatoes that are looking like this, I'm starting to think its mites but I can't see anything. I sure hope its not viral. I might have to send a sample in I don't want to lose all my plants.I grow organically but if its mites doing this chemical warfare is looking better by the day.

i had this happen last year and some this year at this time . i'm thinking the cool nights and cool rainy days . they snapped out of it last year once the nights warmed up and stayed warm .     :onfire:
