Help! Please ID this pepper

Yes. Haven't ripened yet. I started to be skeptical because it grew so quickly. Then it flowered like crazy. Now these fruits are almost heart shaped with bumps. Crazy.

I'm wondering if some cross pollination went on at the farm, and they produced this plant from hybrid seeds by accident. According to Burpee & Bonnie sites, they don't grow super hots or any hybrid like this.

Posted on your other id thread, but looks like a pretty standard orange habanero. The bonnie orange habaneros all seem to have that interesting look to them this year. Again attached is a picture of a handful I harvested early.

That's so ODD! Wonder what the deal is?

I spoke to the Bonnie Rep. She referred me to this page. She said they are using a new variety now for Habs called "Spartacus." http://www.larkseeds.com/products/pepper-hot/habanero/spartacus-2/

Apparently they're using a hybrid that is meant to be hotter, produce more fruit with improved disease resistance. So far this is a hit in my garden. The true test will be flavor and heat of course.

They hit a homerun with Dragon Cayenne. I expect this to be similar.

At least they gave a good answer, those are some good resistances to have. Looks like a heavy producer too

I'm impressed by the strain and the response. The rep got back to me within less than 5 mins. Had an answer waiting for me after lunch. I provided pics of my own plus from the forum.

She escalated to a seed/plant expert within the company for ID + info.

I had those weird habs off of my 2015 bonnie plants (which i will never buy again because of this change)
There was a cow horn, an orange hab from a 2014 bonnie, and the 2015 orange hab. I called the company and they
said they went with a new type of habanero called a Spartacus from lark seeds.

I thought the paper had no taste, no flavour, no heat, and wasn't enjoyable one bit and it was very thin walled
so didn't even make a nice filler in salsa imo.

I made these into a sauce. It's now been fermenting since the Fall. The flavor was lacking on the fruit, and yes, it was extremely thin walled. The sauce smells great but not as pungent as previous hab sauce. Will update soon. I'm gonna pasteurize and bottle this weekend.

Nice, at least you will have a very well aged ferment!
