Strawberry Chocolate Brain Strain Hot Sauce (Micro Batch Test)

I do this a lot during pod season, but haven't posted one in a while. This sauce a bit of a test, and outside my normal recipes, but it turned out really nice. I'm not a big fruity hot sauce fan, but the strawberries with the chocolate brain strain were a very nice balance. I might have to make a mega batch!
 
Start with a SFRB of Cappy's Chocolate Brain Strains (deseeded), and about an equal amount of garden strawberries.

Add more strawberries, a few red superhots for heat balance, and the rest of the ingredients. Heat and hand blend until smooth.

Final touches . . . Made 7 woozies (one went directly into my pantry). The rest will go out for tastings.

Thanks! I put Loran strawberries in last year. They didn't do much the first year, but came back strong this season. Not the most beautiful berry, they grow in waves all summer long. Figured I'd put them to good use. The farm I help at is grows lots of berries and my bhuts. I'm thinking a blackberry bhut sauce?

Just noticed you are in Idaho must be a mid US thing in Tennessee as a kid there was wild strawberries on top of cliffs and hangovers remember picking and eating them all the time on our day trips to nowhere, Cant get them to produce at all here in So-Cal,
 
 
Yes on the Blackberry sauce um on some ice cream...

Seriously though...how did this turn out? Certainly you tasted it at some point. I'm looking for a good sweet-ish sauce to make for myself and for gifts at Christmas.
 
Also, any other ideas for a sweet or sweet and smokey sauce to check out? I'm a sauce newb and there's so many recipes on here to look at.

Thanks! Yes, just red wine vinegar. It's the same acidity (5%) as the white vinegar I usually use.

I think it turned out very good. My "tasters" have also given it positive reviews so far. It starts with a rich sweet/tart strawberry flavor, followed by a blast of warmth that doesn't overpower. I'm going to try blackberries soon ... maybe a blackberry bhut sauce. Blueberry might be nice too. Of course lots of sauce makers use mango and pineapple.
 
Awesome. I may have to "borrow" your idea and give it a try once some of my peppers are ripe. I think the blue/blackberry would be really good too. I have some really nice organic blackberry jelly in the cupboard that maybe I'll use (cheat) and make a really small batch to try out once I have some peppers.
 
Sounds like a tasty sauce!  I made a strawberry mango ghost sauce last year that was really good.
 
I recommend trying your sauce on vanilla ice cream.  It's an amazing combination.
