Indian or Thai? Can anyone help me solve this one?

Greetings from South Carolina, and welcome to The Hot Pepper.

That's an interesting looking chili. Plumper than either of the two Indian varieties I've grown. I'm not well up on Thai varieties, so not much help to you. That's a good looking cat you have!

I had to look up Fuerteventura. Looks like a cool place.

If you are interested and willing, I'd like to trade seeds with you to get some of your mystery pepper seeds. I'm collecting and growing peppers that are good for drying and powdering. One I'm growing this year is Tap de Corti from Mallorca.

I hope someone else can tell us the name of your pepper.

Tom

Hi

Thanks for the response. The forum is great, obviously I'm new here and I've not had a lot to post because I've been too busy ready loads of great post. I'd be more than happy to send some pods over to you. Drop me a message and I'll put some in the post for you. The Tap de Corti is a famous variety over here in the Canary Islands as the local love paprika (or pimenton as it's know here)
I use pimenton a lot here when I coook Spanish dishes I love the dark smokey taste. I'm sure you will get some great chilli from your new plants.

btw if anyone is interested Fuerteventura sits out in the Atlantic of the coast of North Africa, the population is mostly Spanish, English and German. The names loosely translates to Strong Wind, so great for us windsurfers.  :)

Well welcome aboard!! And that was exceptionally nice of you to help a member so quickly!!! :) you'll fit in perfectly here!!
Wind surfing alright!! I'm not a wind surfer but I'm an avid sailor and have been surfing for 33 years.
Is the term chuck lucka used there for cooking ? Have a surfer buddy from South Africa who uses it to describe a sauce he makes.

Sorry got off track I'm stumped to the chili type as well :( But no worries there are plenty of vary pepper savvy individuals who will get you straight! :)
Looking forward to sharing some recipes and hopefully you're a BBQ man!! Lots of us here.
So once again Welcome and hope to chat again!!!
Cheers mate

Hi and Thanks for the warm welcome. Surf here is good, nice and easy in the summer bit it gets pretty full on in the winter, so we surf too, even our two youngest kids are having lessons at the local beach. Having said that the temp in the winter is about 17 degrees C on average, so yea it's great for year round BBQs here. It's my first year growing chillies on the Island and the results so far are awesome. Hope to speak again soon, off to make some Mango and chilli chutney for the kids   :drooling:
