Useful List of Chiles by Heat Level

Well, now that you mention it, I had to search around to find Serrano, and I was surprised how hot they rated it. Seems like it's not too accurate.

Her scale is probably to her own taste I would assume.  Not something most of us can generally go by.  I stopped by her greenhouse last year as I was driving through Bloomington, IN in May.  Pretty nice to see a place with just thousands of pepper plants.  I was a little surprise how late she starts though.  It was mid May and the plants were only like 2 or 3".  I did buy a few and they grew true and healthy.  Even though small they caught up with the others and at the end of the year the Brazilian Starfish I picked up was my tallest plant by far at over 7'.

yea seems a bit off and random. I would hardly rate a white fatalii 9 .. maybe 5-6 at best

yeah use my list, columns are sortable(heat column is a little weird since it's alphabetical lol), you can use search. click link of pepper name to go to the peppers full page with description.

Scott Roberts has a pretty comprehensive and accurate list of peppers and sauces. Sortable for either or both.
