Reading Jim Duffy, I see he has observed a red fatalii pepper growing on a yellow fatalii plant now and then. That leads me to think the red is a natural variant & likely the characteristics of red are recessive. In human terms, that would make the red fatalii kind of like red headed people. Naturally occurring red heads are more rare, but they are still people.
Thing is, if you read enough opinions on the red fatalii you will find many that say it is not a true fatalii pepper. Some folk indicate it is a cross between the regular yellow fatalii and something else that brought the red out.
Wondering what the majority opinion is:
1 - Red Fatalii is a cross and not a true Fatalii like the yellow.
2 - Red Fatalii is a naturally occurring variant of the yellow Fatalii.
3 - Red Fatalii is a naturally occurring variant, but someone created a line by the same name by crossing yellow with something else.
Opinions?
