topping my plants now?

Hello THP,
 
     So is it to late to top my 3 foot tall plants now to stimulate pod growth?  The average frost date where I live is October 15th.  With 2 months left I'm thinking It might be worth it.  I did post in the sticky thread about this topic but I'm not sure how often that is viewed so I started this thread.  I hope I didn't do anything wrong by doing that.

 I would not bother this late in the season .  I never top my plants unless they are having issues or getting to leggy .
