Hydroponic Bay Laurel

Ok, so here's a question: Can bay laurels be grown in a hydroponics system? In my area they need to be overwintered indoors, and i've got a 5 gallon dwc bucket i could put it in. Theoretically if i were to do this it would be grown under a 600 watt metal halide alongside 3 other buckets.

I just grow mine in a 5 gallon frosting buckest with dirt and water it once a week in the winter (I bring the buckets in when it starts to freeze). If you plant it in the ground however, your plant should survive even Mass. weather. But I would wait till next spring at this moment and put it in then. In the winter time, perhaps you might want to put some hay around the bottom and if it get real cold, like sub-0 you might want to but a plastic bag over it until the temp gets back above zero.

I know they don't generally like wet feet, so if you do hydro, make sure you get some good bubblers in the water.
