Cant find the body...

Was going to take pictures, but body was gone the next day.  Other night, wife told me the barn cats killed a bob cat.  I thought no way, its a neighbors dog hit by a car that limped to our barn and died.  If it is a bob cat, must be the same thing, limped to barn and died.  Although I would not expect a bob cat to limp to a building when hurt.

Nope and nope.  I went out to the barn to check and there was a dead bob cat, male, with its throat ripped out and bloody gouges all over its body.  The dogs showed no interest and had no injuries.  The barn cats were tore up a bit and they were eating the invading male.

Neighbors cats come strolling onto our property, if its the male the barn cats attack and run it off.  I gotta figure the bob cat figured he was too big to take crap from the barn cats.  Bad decision.  My barn cats are officially a pack.  Now I wonder where the hell the body went.  I drug it to the burn pile.  It wasnt there the next AM.  Can not imagine they ate the whole damn body.  Something else got it.

All I can think is coyote.

KY and other midwest states have seen some periodic ranging wildlife over the past handful of years, including grey wolves, mountain lions and bears.  So while the high probability exists that it was a coyote (or multiples of them), it could have been something else.

Whoa crazy! Those are some serious cats!
I used to not care for cats and thought they were for girls till I got close with my girlfriends cat. Their bad asses by nature, sleep, eat, and hunt. It's awesome watching him get into predator mode and hunt something down. Usually it's just moths which I love cus caterpillars been eatin my peppers lately. If we ever break up the cat is mine, we've already decided lol

Yep, I wish I had your barn cats. Mine are lucky to make it a year or two with the high number of coyotes around here. The darker color kitties usually make it a little longer.

Same, here.

I thought less of cats because mom didn't like them and I didn't have any.

Met a girl w/ a cat ... that fucker terrorized my feet from under the bed, and I realized how much more competent they are per-lb than dogs ...

Now I have two kitteh, and I love watching one of them school one of my girlfriends dogs that's easily twice the weight ...

Cats are pretty amazing in terms of ass-whooping-potential-per-lb! ...

Not the bear, he says out back.  Not the wolves, they are scared off by the coyote.  Cant imagine it was the coyote cause they dont come that close to house in summer.  The fox are too small.  I think the barn cats ate the damn thing.
