A volunteer, what is it?

Mild Habanero flavor, really not much taste at all.

Reasonable heat, Habanero or hotter.

Does not resemble anything I remember growing last year.

If it's really a volunteer, likely it's a cross between two things you grew last year.

It is a volunteer, of that I am quite certain.

As for being a cross, yes I would agree that is most likely.

It sort of has the size and somewhat of the shape of Datil pepper (which I did grow last year), would you not agree?

Perhaps it is a Datil/(???) cross?

Although the f1 (if it is indeed a cross) doesn't have much flavor, it just looks like it has to have flavor somewhere in its genes. It might be worth growing a few of them next season.
Maybe grow a bunch of them in small pots just to increase the odds and see how a bunch of them turn out.

Ones on the bottom look most like a datil x hab type cross.

That is what I was was thinking.

However, both the Datil and Habanero I grew last year were orange.

I might just have to do that.
