Ghost Pepper Cheese log

so with the holidays approaching I wanted to have something to bring to the table where everyone would know exactly who brought it.   It's already passed the scrutiny of my wife AND mother in law and my three year old says "it's good but, a little spicy me think!" with buzz like that its sure to be a hit! so here it is -

Ghost pepper cheese log

1pk cream cheese
1/2cp shredded chedder
1/2cp shredded monterey jack
1/4cp finely diced green pepper
4oz pineapple diced,crushed,drained
3Tbs finely diced red onion
1 strip of bacon fried and diced
1 seeded ghost minced (obviously just about any heat source goes here but i wanted to share the flavor of ghost with peeps that are sissified)
1Tbs soy sauce
2 dashes liquid smoke
1.5cp chopped pecans

mix all ingredients, reserving 1.25cp pecans for coating the ball.
fridge for an hour, shape, coat, enjoy.  The longer this sits in the fridge the better it will taste.  I actually found this level of heat to be nice, it was hot, you could taste the ghost yet no one needed to run for water.

LOL, I took pics and then thought "its just a cheese log, no one needs pics" and deleted them but again its just a cheese log it can be moulded into any shape.  as far as serving suggestions, my suggestion is not to eat it all in one go no matter how much you want to.  crackers are the traditional conveyance but anything works, pretzels, raw vegetables, your hands, I used it as a spread on a roasted veggie sandwich and it was awesome!

Karoo my friend, Im looking for a traditional peri peri or other african hot sauce recipe, got anything? - Lakka

I would cheese log some miles on that recipe!!!! It's going in my book of recipes!! Awesome brother!!

Oh and yeah pics would be nice!! Had to jump on the bandwagon!! Hahaha

Good call on including the montery jack. It's a smooth and creamy cheese in flavour but not in the way cream cheeses tend to be, making it a perfect companion to the flavour of nearly any chilli and ghost, while very distinctively its own thing, does have a lot of typical chilli traits about it.

Ok, I was all ready to call FOUL on the cheese BALL -vs- cheese LOG......  but it's all good and this does sound like a much better cheese thing than KauKana.....

Made a trial batch using your recipe tonight.
Had to use Fresno peppers cause I did not have a ghost right now.
Very tasty. Almost no heat so may have to add a little powder to the one on New Years Eve.
Thank you for the recipe!

Made two logs for tonight. One sweet and one with super hot pepper powder added to give the heat and ghost pepper flavor.
Thank you again for a great recipe!
