Viable 800 year old seeds?

Wow!!! I would have thought "no way", but a search lead to many articles on this from unaffiliated and seemingly credible sources. Thanks for sharing ajdrew!

Now who do we need to trade pepper seeds with to acquire this squash... :)

This is what I could find out about these seeds
the sight info came from is here:

under Seed of the week there is a link to the squash story.
Sorry I am having a hard time on my phone adding the link.

I have my doubts about the age of the seeds, even if the container was dated to 800 years ago, there has been stories about seeds grown from ones found in Egyptian Tombs, in fact I have some that supposedly were found in King Tuts tomb.  Its a great old fashion soup pea, but as it turns out seed sellers in the late 1800's and 1900's would make up stories about veggie seeds so that they would sell better, my king Tut pea along with one called Mummy white could be nothing more that peas that weren't selling very well.
this of course is just my two cents.

Never thought about it but it would be kind of fun to collect some of the weird things like this.  Mummy White sounds fun.
