Am I a ghost?

Ghost chili pepper, that is. A friend gave me a ghost chili plant about 4 months ago that was just a stick with some leaves. It has since flourished and producing some pods. The first one just turned red. Can you chili masters confirm it's a ghost chili? If not, any idea what it might be? Thanks.

the big green one looks like a ghost, the red one resembles a dorset naga, which is a ghost....so, ya, you got yourself some ghosts.

Naga Morich because is dark green,Bhut Jolokia is pale green unripe

Hard to tell with 1st round of pods. Give the plant a little time to mature. The first picture looks like an under developed pod. The second pic has the right shape but not very bumpy. By third or fourth round of pods you'll see that it most likely is a ghost or at the very least a bhut variety.

First pod developed when it was hot. Most of the flowers dropped during that time (greenhouse was 100+ F). Now, that temps are cooler (70-90 during day), more pods are forming with less flower drops.

Leaves are ripply in the second pic. That is a good sign that you at least have some ghost in there. Pods don't quite look right though.

lol, im sorry but there is no difference between pepper leaves.

they don't look ghost to me but since you don't know that tells me you didn't get them from a reputable seed distributor, tsk tsk.

peppers like it around 70-80, my production really shuts down during the heat of summer 95+. Ive read that a tomato will drop any bloom that forms when temps hit 90 before 10am. Peppers are in the same family could be a shared trait.

You've never seen any differences in pepper leaves? Cause I have. Lots of differences; leaf shape, ripples, hairy leaves, etc etc

Agreed the first pod looks more naga type but that second pod is very similar to ghosts I grew last year.

I'm with SF on this and I firmly stand on my original post. There is a lot of differences between pepper leaves if you know what you are looking for. To my knowledge, only the plants with genetics similar to the ghost show ripply leaves.

yes i have seen differences in pepper leaves but never that could be attributed to a specific type or pepper. You couldnt lay down 5 leaves and say what types of peppers have these been taken from. And Ill stick to my highfalutin ways of knowing what Im growing and not reading posts in their entirety, thank you!
